PERSONAL WORK X NICOLE BEHARIE
Late last year, I received a creative brief that I instantly fell in love with. The concept was very different from the type of work I usually create, but that’s exactly what drew me in.
Ultimately, I didn’t win the job. But the creative stayed with me. Eventually, I decided to produce a personal project inspired by that brief, putting my own spin on it in a way that would push me outside my comfort zone.
Nicole Beharie was the ideal creative to work with on this project. We had shot together before, and I knew her energy, range, and creativity would be perfect for this.
From planning and producing to executing and post-production, I was involved in every detail. With a personal project on a personal budget, that means calling in favors, finding like-minded collaborators, and doing everything possible not to break the bank. It took time, money, effort, resources… and did I mention time and money? But in the end, I’m so proud of what we were able to create.
